German-Georgian Lawyers’ Association
The German-Georgian Lawyers’ Association (DGeoJV) is a bilateral organization dedicated to promoting legal dialogue and cooperation between Germany and Georgia. Its overarching goal is to contribute to the development of a modern legal system in Georgia based on the rule of law and, in particular, to support approximation to European legal standards.

Strengthening democratic awareness
Raising awareness of human and civil rights and the corresponding duties of the individual as well as their importance as the essential intellectual basis of a democratic state and community.
Promoting the common good
Strengthening an ethic of responsibility, on the basis of which the individual feels actively committed to a society oriented towards the common good beyond private networks.
Promotion of German and Georgian culture
Intensive promotion of the German language and communication of German cultural heritage as the basis for close relations between lawyers from Germany and Georgia.
Support for reform policy
Advice and support for the reforms that have been initiated in the education, culture and justice systems, because long-term success on the path to a stable democratic state and civil society can only be achieved with the help of several well-educated generations.
Legal advice
Advice and support for the reforms that have been initiated in the legal system to strengthen the rule of law and legal awareness as well as the trustworthiness of the judiciary.
Networking
Support for the establishment of networks and intensification of follow-up work among personalities from the fields of politics, science, culture and business with links to Germany.
Strengthening civil society
Strengthening civil society approaches, above all by promoting responsible journalism (training and further education, exchange) and cooperation with civil society institutions.
